Walks Around Bottisham
There are several walks around Bottisham and one group, who do regular walks, is the Bottisham Walkers. This is a group who meet at 11:00 on a Wednesday or a Friday at the Bottisham Medical Practice front seat. This is run under the Patients group by trained walk leader Steve Gilson.
The Bottisham walks are around the pavements and public footpaths, and one of the walks involves going to Swaffham Bulbeck church and walking back through Bottisham Park with kind permission of Mr Jenyns. The new lambs are sweet to see along with the daffodils and snowdrops in the early spring.
There is also another group who meet every Thursday at 10.00 in the Anglesey Abbey main reception, and walk nearer the abbey and lodes. Both these groups are run under the healthy walking scheme, run jointly with McMillan, The Ramblers and
The National Trust. The walks are around an hour and are designed to give a gentle workout.
Details of all the scheduled dates of these walks appear in the village magazines, on the surgery notice board and surgery Web site.
There is also more information on the East Cambridgeshire: Heart Beat healthy walks web site.
